Dubai building collapse: Risk of imminent crumbling indicated by engineers

city officials and the property owners have currently warned residents to evacuate the Building, awaiting the return of the head construction engineer of the project by name Mr David Pierre, in Co-operation with the Al Jaber LEGT Engineering & Contracting LLC (ALEC).

A structural engineer’s report issued last week indicated a wall of the Mushrif Shopping Mall building in Abu Dhabi was at imminent risk of crumbling, and the owner as well as city officials took it as a liberty upon themselves to warn residents and other occupants in the building of the danger, days before the building partially collapsed, leaving four people missing and feared dead.

The revelation is the latest flashpoint after Sunday’s partial internal collapse of the building in Abu Dhabi. Residents have lashed out at city leaders over what they see as an inept response.

“The management of the infrastructure as well as the construction company and other engineers are to be present for the conclusion on what is to be done regarding the rectification of the issue at hand.
