Fatal Road Accident Near JFK: BMW Driver Flees After Causing Deadly Crash

A tragic accident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday night near John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), leaving a 57 year old male identified as Davis Clark, fatally injured and his unidentified cab driver dead. Authorities say the incident occurred around 8:30pm. and involved a BMW believed to be traveling at a dangerously high speed.

According to preliminary reports, the BMW struck Mr Davis’s Cab on a route toward JFK. The violent impact left the cab mangled and flipped, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. The cab driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the BMW, believed to have been operating recklessly at the time of the crash, fled the scene on foot after and remains at large. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect fleeing toward the highway after his car exploded, but were unable to provide a clear description.

NYPD and Port Authority officials have launched a manhunt and are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby traffic cameras. The area was temporarily closed for several hours as investigators combed the scene for evidence.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the fleeing driver to come forward.

“This is a heartbreaking tragedy,” said an NYPD spokesperson. “A family has lost loved ones today because of reckless behavior, and we are committed to bringing the individual responsible to justice.”
